Welcome to The Prodigal Cinephile, an Ithaca, New York-based movie blog by Andy Horbal established in 2018!
This site functions as a notebook where I document my experiences as a 21st century man in love with a 20th century artform, with particular emphasis on covering the Finger Lakes film scene in the spirit of an alt-weekly critic from back in the day. It provides an outlet for exploratory criticism, a long-term archive for first impressions I deem worth preserving, and a place to park finished writing.
